Please review the following Microsoft documentation at:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=979347, for more details regarding the fixes included in this rollup. As is the case with any patch deployment, please review the documentation and perform the proper testing and planning before deploying this Rollup to your production environment.
Update Rollup 10 Build Number: 4.0.7333.2741
Key Fixes:
- The Update Rollup 10 CRM E-mail Router has added support for Exchange Online.
- After you apply the Update Rollup 8 package for the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 E-mail Router, you cannot configure the E-mail Router for Microsoft Exchange 2010.
- When you enable the Send acknowledgement to customers when they unsubscribe option in the System Settings page, you notice that the lookup button in the Template for Acknowledgement E-mail field is unexpectedly disabled.
- Assume that you remove the privileges for the "Account" entity from a user role. If you grant the privileges to the user role, Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 cannot synchronize all accounts to the Microsoft Outlook client address book in a Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 client for Outlook.
- Assume that you are the organizer of an appointment. If the appointment is changed and you are no longer on the appointment, the appointment is not deleted from your Outlook calendar.
- Assume that you have a service record that contains team resources. The team resources do not belong to the business unit that you use. When you try to open the Service record, you receive the following error message: “An error has occurred.”
- When you change the relationship style of a system relationship, you receive the following error message: “Invalid Argument.”
- Assume that you install Update Rollup 7 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. When you synchronize Microsoft Office Outlook with the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 server, you receive the following error message:
- Only items under the default folder can be tracked in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
- You only have read access to a shared folder in Outlook.
- The folder contains items that are tracked in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.
Special Considerations:
Microsoft Office 2010 is still in the beta stage of development. Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 was tested together with Microsoft Office 2010. Additionally, issues can be logged by the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Support team. Therefore, the hotfix to resolve the issues may not be available until Microsoft Office 2010 is released. 64-bit versions of Office 2010 will not be supported in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.
With Update Rollup 8 installed, Microsoft CRM E-mail Router Service supports Microsoft Exchange 2010. However, because of an issue with MAPI, the Rule Deployment Wizard does not support Microsoft Exchange 2010. This issue will be addressed in a future update of Microsoft Exchange 2010.
Importing / Exporting Customizations:
As with previous updates, Update Rollup 10 supports importing / exporting customizations from and to CRM deployments with the following rollups installed: Update Rollup 2, Update Rollup 3, Update Rollup 4, Update Rollup 5, Update Rollup 6, Update Rollup 7, Update Rollup 8, and Update 9.
If a CRM deployment does not have a rollup installed, or has Update Rollup 1 installed, you should not export / import customization from / to a system that has Update Rollup 10 installed.
CRM 4.0 Client Auto Update:
Please note that the deployment of the Client rollup can be streamlined using the CRM Auto Update feature. This feature is new to CRM 4.0, and allows updates to be pushed to the CRM clients directly without a manual installation. If you would like to discuss this feature further please contact the Wipfli CRM Team.
