Fraud Risk Assessments: Understanding Risks and Targeting Your Response
May 22, 2012; 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (CST)
Location:
Online Event
Sign-on information will be sent to registered participants 24 hours before the event
Every organization, regardless of its mission or goals, is susceptible to being the victim of fraud. The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, in its 2010 Report to the Nations, reported that “audits are clearly important and can have a strong preventative effect on fraudulent behavior, but they should not be relied upon exclusively for fraud detection.” Understanding where your risks are is an important first step to effectively and efficiently manage those risks. Being able to conduct a fraud risk assessment is one way your organization can identify key risks and build the foundation for an anti-fraud culture.
Learning Objectives:
1. Learn why risk assessments are an important part of meeting your organization’s goals and objectives
2. Obtain an understanding of risk assessment methodology
3. Gain a basic understanding of a variety of fraud risks and ways to manage or mitigate those risks
