Most board members are not financially savvy. Yet they need to understand the financial health of the agency. Join us as we discuss how to evaluate the financial experience and knowledge of the board and how to customize reports to that knowledge. We will discuss how not to overwhelm the board with finances and how to highlight the key areas in a way to keep them engaged and interested. Is your current accounting system user-friendly or providing workable reports? Are you ever concerned that you might not be providing the best information to the board because of them? We will also discuss how to evaluate your current software and accounting processes to determine if the information you give the board is even accurate or timely.
Learning Objectives:
1. Determine how to evaluate the financial expertise of your board
2. Review what type of reports should be presented to the board
3. Learn tips and recommendations for how to address the board
