Day 1 Morning: Designing a Base Compensation Plan

Compensation plans must be in compliance with federal regulations and state and federal labor laws, but they must also reflect your organization’s mission and values and be carried out as efficiently and effectively as possible. This session will address compensation from plan design through execution, specifically covering:
• Compensation in federal regulations
• Compensation philosophy
• Suggestions for and examples of plans that are in compliance and support your mission and vision.

Succession management is the systematic and defined process to ensure continuity for all key positions by identifying and developing employees within the organization. It is important to understand that succession isn’t reserved exclusively for the top management positions, but should incorporate other critical roles and responsibilities needed now and in the future. Succession management is very future focused and is most effective when aligned with the strategic plan. In this session, you will learn the importance of succession management and approaches to take in developing, enhancing, and/or sustaining succession plans.

Day 2 Morning: Transformational Leadership Workshop 1: Building a Vision-centered Community

In this first of two sessions, we will focus on the critical first steps to creating a foundation for strategic planning and transforming your organization toward changing community needs. We will share and explore a framework and examples for developing objectives and agency outcomes that can engage your community, clients, leadership and staff for the long term. We will also discuss the purpose and development process for a collaborative vision for change, as well as how to establish and re-invigorate partnerships that help achieve your vision. Finally, participants in the session will have the opportunity to engage in a planning activity focused on visioning and community outcomes.

Day 2 Afternoon: Transformational Leadership Workshop 2: Leading and Managing through Change
Level: Overview
Prerequisite: Transformational Leadership Workshop 1 is strongly recommended

In this second of two sessions, we will focus on the leadership skills and change management practices necessary to guide your organization in a vision-centered transformation and strategy execution. We will provide theories, tools, techniques and examples for planning and implementing lasting change. Topics from organizational planning and scope of services change to personal resistance and transition management will be covered. This content includes a full scope of best practices and leadership considerations necessary to lead a transformation or strategy implementation. Finally, participants in the session will have the opportunity to engage in a change planning activity focused on leading teams and people.

Registration fees include:
- Up to 13 CPE Credits in accordance with the standards of the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. CPE credits are granted based on a 50-minute hour.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made after September 21, 2011 will be charged $100 per person cancellation fee. If you cancel, you may send a substitute from your organization or transfer your registration fee to a future seminar without penalty.
