The new year is here, and as financial institutions make plans for 2009, it’s a good time to look back at just how far we’ve come in ensuring safeguards.
Financial institutions have always operated under significant regulation and have attempted to comply, knowing full well that a regulator could potentially be on the doorstep. In fact, most institutions have done a better job of protecting customer information than many businesses or other industries. This is particularly worth noting (and promoting) at a time when overall consumer confidence is down.
