On June 30, 2011, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) issued Supervisory Guidance 2011-29 that outlines the OCC’s expectations for national banks in their handling of the foreclosure process. The guidance comes two months after the release in April 2011 of the Interagency Review of Foreclosure Policies and Practices issued by the Federal Reserve, the OCC, and the Office of Thrift Supervision that details the findings of a review of 14 of the largest mortgage servicers.
