People go missing every day. You hear about them in the news, but you never think it could happen to your family. Until one day, it does. Our brother went missing June 7, 2004. In the aftermath of that unfortunate day, we discovered some hard truths about the law and the lack of information dealing with estate matters for missing persons. As a result of our experience—both as affected family members and as professionals familiar with the intricacies of estate planning—we’re sharing our findings so other professionals can be prepared to help their clients and others in the wake of a missing-persons case.
