• Gartner predicts the worldwide market for Cloud computing is increasing from $45B in 2009 to $150B by 2013. And, by 2012, “20% of businesses will own no IT assets.”
• Microsoft has embraced cloud computing, as was evident in the MMS 2010 keynote. In addition, the company's CEO, Steve Ballmer, was recently quoted saying that 70% of Microsoft is dedicated to the cloud today, but it will be 90% sooner rather than later.
• A recent research survey conducted at Interop 2010 in Las Vegas had 54% responding indicating that they use 2 or more SaaS applications and 32% of respondents saying they use 5 or more SaaS applications.
