Wipfli LLP, a national consulting and accounting firm based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, recently elected seven associates to partner. Those associates include Inga Arendt, Lonny Charles, Lisa Desotelle, Maureen Fassbinder, Rob Ganschow, Terry Saber, and Scott Schumacher. With the firm for 14 years, Arendt is primarily involved in Financial Accounting Outsourcing (FAO), leading and helping to grow the practice for the firm. Arendt is a certified public accountant, and holds various QuickBooks certifications including Point of Sale and Enterprise Solutions. She is a member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and of Management Women Inc. Arendt is also on the board for the YWCA of Green Bay-De Pere. She holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Arendt is based in the firm’s Green Bay office. Charles, who is also based in the firm’s Green Bay office, has worked with the firm for nearly 13 years. Leading the firm’s Eastern Region Business Advisory Services group, Charles works with small to mid-size businesses providing accounting, tax compliance, tax planning, business planning and consulting services to his clients. He is an expert in QuickBooks training and software setups. A certified public accountant, Charles is a member of the WICPA and the AICPA. He is the treasurer and director for Urban Hope, a nonprofit entrepreneurial school that helps people to start their own businesses. Charles earned a bachelor of business administration degree from St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. Desotelle, who is based in the firm’s Rhinelander office, has over 20 years of experience serving nonprofit organizations and local governments, providing proactive solutions to large, multi-funded organizations with complex accounting issues. A certified public accountant, Desotelle is a member of the AICPA, the WICPA, and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants. She holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration and accounting from Montana State University in Billings, Montana. With more than 25 years of banking experience, Fassbinder provides internal audit and compliance outsourcing services to clients throughout the financial sector. Prior to joining Wipfli LLP, she was vice president in charge of internal audit and compliance for a two-bank holding company in Wisconsin and spent six years in the audit and exam division of a large national institution. A certified regulatory compliance manager, Fassbinder is a member of The Institute of Internal Auditors. She is a co-director of the Wisconsin Bankers Association Internal Audit School, as well as faculty for the Association’s Compliance Officer and Enterprise Risk Management schools. Fassbinder holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Fassbinder is based out of the firm’s St. Paul office. Based in the firm’s Eau Claire office, Ganschow has worked with the firm’s clients in the not-for-profit and government sectors for more than 19 years. A certified public accountant and certified fraud examiner, Ganschow is a member of the AICPA, the WICPA, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the Government Finance Officers Association, and the Wisconsin Government Finance Officers Association. He is also actively involved in community endeavors, serving as treasurer for the Mondovi Lions Club and as acting leader in the Mondovi Cub Scout Organization. Ganschow holds a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Also elected to partner and based in the firm’s Minneapolis office, Saber has more than 30 years of experience in the areas of strategic planning, human capital, executive compensation, and executive coaching with family-owned, privately held, and publicly traded financial institutions; state banking associations; and nonprofit organizations. Prior to Wipfli LLP’s acquisition, Saber was the President and CEO of her own consulting practice, Saber & Associates, Inc., where she focused extensively on facilitation and strategic planning throughout the United States, working closely with boards of directors and executive management. Her past experience also includes senior management positions with two community banks in St. Paul, Minnesota. Saber has been the featured speaker at numerous state financial institution conventions throughout the United States, along with national conferences including the American Bankers Association’s Conference of State Banking Association Executives. Saber currently coordinates leadership and management curriculum for the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and serves on the Curriculum Advisory Committee. She holds a bachelor of science degree in speech, English, and education from Minnesota State University. Saber is also a graduate of the BMA Graduate School of Marketing Management and Strategic Planning at the University of Georgia, Athens, and has completed the Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Executive Development program at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In addition, she is a certified Master Coach with the Behavioral Coaching Institute owned and led by Dr. Suzanne Skiffington in Melbourne, Australia. With over 15 years of experience, Schumacher focuses on providing business consulting to closely held and family-owned businesses in the manufacturing and distribution industry sectors. He is also the leader of Wipfli LLP’s research and development (R&D) tax credit service. Schumacher is a member of the AICPA and the WICPA. He holds a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting and a master’s degree in taxation from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He also holds a certificate in state and local taxation from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Schumacher is based out of the firm’s Milwaukee office.
