Microsoft Releases Fix for SharePoint Service Pack 2

The update for the Service Pack 2 expiration issue is available for download.
This update addresses the bug where installing Service Pack 2 incorrectly activates an expiration date for SharePoint Server 2007. Applying the update prior to installing Service Pack 2 will prevent the issue from occurring, and applying after installing Service Pack 2 will remove the incorrect expiration date.
