Janice Ahlstrom has over 30 years of experience in health care working with provider, payor, and pharmacy benefit organizations. In addition to her experience in health care technology and management consulting, she is a registered nurse with 11 years of experience in clinical practice as a nurse manager, educator, and staff nurse. She has an extensive background in management, implementation, and integration of enterprise healthcare information systems. Janice has led the implementation of electronic medical record systems in both the inpatient acute care and ambulatory practice environments. She has a strong focus on operational improvement and business process optimization, leveraging Lean and Six Sigma tools. Large health systems, rural hospitals, clinics, senior service, and home health care clients find value in the solutions that Janice designs with them, drawing on her clinical, technology, and health care business acumen. Janice is CPHIMS certified by Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) in Healthcare Information and Management Systems. Further, she has attained the designation of HIMSS fellow - FHIMSS.
As leader of Wipfli’s health care technology and management consulting services, Janice is responsible for development of service solutions that align with industry, market, and technology trends. She strives to help clients continuously improve their operations and evolve their strategic plans.

Janice is a frequent speaker at state and national health care industry conferences. She is published nationally and internationally in the areas of technology and continuous improvement, leveraging Lean and Six Sigma approaches. In addition, Janice has coauthored a project management handbook.

Janice is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), HIMSS, Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), and American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). She is a member of the Board of Directors for Prevent Blindness Wisconsin and a Junior Achievement volunteer in area schools.
