Robert A. Buss, Jr.

Executive Director of Benefit Services

Robert A. Buss, Jr. is an exempt taxation expert.  He provides in-depth benefit and tax-related services that include planning, design, and consultation related to qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, cafeteria plans, and fringe benefit plans.

Bob has over 25 years of experience in employee benefits administration and consulting.  In addition, he is in charge of the employee benefits department for the Green Bay, Appleton, and Milwaukee offices.  His years of experience in individual, corporate, and exempt taxation have provided Bob with the extensive background necessary to provide comprehensive solutions and ideas to employee benefit plan clients and issues.

Professional Organizations and Activities
Bob is an active member in both the American and Wisconsin Institutes of Certified Public Accountants as well as a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.  In his civic activities, Bob is a leader within the Optimist organization, having served as president of the Green Bay chapter and treasurer of the Foundation.  He is also a member of his parish finance council.

  • Since 1981, Bob has developed a considerable practice at Wipfli with specific skills in the areas of: tax exemption, benefit plans including plan design, both qualified and nonqualified, employee 401(k) programs, and individual, corporate, and exempt entity tax consultation.

Education
  • Marquette University; bachelor of science degree. He also holds certification as an Employee Benefit Specialist from the Wharton School of Business.
