Jim Butler is the partner in charge of the Madison region.  Jim wants to see closely held, family-owned businesses succeed and be profitable. By listening, then leading, Jim guides family businesses through common—and sometimes difficult—profitability issues and growing pains.  Jim’s clients find his expertise invaluable in planning and implementing complex strategies: profit improvement, mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, compensation structuring, tax planning, and ownership succession.  

In Jim's free time he enjoys spending time with his family and flying his airplane. Jim serves as the chair on the YMCA board and the executive committee and is a member of the Finance Committee and New Opportunities Committee.  He is also a member of the Madison Downtown Rotary Club.
