Senior Manager

Kevin Cherney is a highly knowledgeable senior manager in Wipfli LLP’s Green Bay office.   He is focused on serving the auto dealership and construction industries. Within these industries, he works with clients ranging from start-up operations to companies with over $100 million in annual revenue. This focus allows Kevin to effectively and efficiently serve the two industries since he deals with their business challenges on a daily basis.

The clients that Kevin serves benefit from his expertise in both taxation and operational consulting. He regularly assists clients with such services as strategic entity restructuring, IRS audit defense, construction contract taxation, job costing analysis, dealership performance analyses, and LIFO inventory elections and computations. Kevin has also helped clients minimize or defer their taxes through industry-specific accounting method changes. Utilizing his expertise, he simultaneously provides clients with top-notch tax planning and proven operational ideas.

Before joining Wipfli, Kevin was a controller for a private company and established its first full internal accounting department. This experience gives him first-hand knowledge of the daily activities within an organization’s accounting department. Furthermore, Kevin gained a heightened awareness of the relationship between accounting and other departments.

Professional Organizations and Activities
To stay current with the auto dealership and construction issues, Kevin regularly attends industry conferences. He is a current member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Kevin currently serves as VP of the Allouez Optimist Club. He is also a past ambassador for the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. Kevin holds various leadership positions with his sons’ Cub Scout pack.
