Mary Coates is highly responsible and responsive to clients’ needs and provides good follow-through and timely service. Mary has done tax planning for a multitude of businesses of all sizes, from small family owned to international.

Mary believes it is important for businesses to plan now to minimize their tax payments. This saves money and headaches later, since it is much easier to catch potential problems at the front-end than to fix them at the back-end.

After joining Wipfli LLP in 1989, Mary worked as an auditor for seven years, providing services to financial institutions, manufacturers, wholesalers, service corporations, and not-for-profit organizations. She continues to serve many of the same clients from the tax side. Her audit experience has given her insight into many businesses and how they function. She has a strong knowledge of financial statements and the impact of taxes on financial statements.
