Steve Hewitt, CPA

Partner in Charge, Dealerships

Steve Hewitt leads Wipfli LLP’s dealership practice. The practice serves approximately 250 retail rooftops across 25 states. Steve consults on numerous dealership transactions each year and assists dealers in achieving their specific goals. He also serves on Wipfli’s board of directors.

Steve has worked exclusively with auto dealerships since 1988. His work includes assisting dealerships achieve their goals, consulting on numerous dealership sale transactions, assisting in purchase price and allocation issues, assisting new dealers obtain approval by the automobile manufacturer for a new retail location, and assisting dealers in fraud settlements with insurance companies.

Steve is an accomplished speaker, regularly called upon to provide presentations for automotive commercial lending units on automotive industry updates, the Minnesota Auto Dealers Association, Wipfli client groups, and various civic and charitable organizations.

When not helping his clients solve their business issues, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, attending their many sporting activities. He also enjoys boating, golfing, and Canadian fishing trips.

Professional Organizations and Activities
Steve is a member of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Twin Cities Automobile Business Managers Association, the Minnesota Auto Dealers Association (MADA), the National Association of Automobile Dealer Advisors (NAADA), and the University of Minnesota Alumni Association. He is also treasurer for the Westonka Community Alliance for Education (WCAFE), an area nonprofit organization.
