Larry Lester has developed extensive experience in the financial management of long‑term care facilities. He is extremely knowledgeable in preparing and analyzing financial budgets, determining the reimbursement of operational decisions, and presenting in-depth seminars on these and other critical issues.

Larry possesses in-depth knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid as these programs relate to the long-term care environment. He has assisted facilities in managing operational decisions to ensure appropriate Medicaid reimbursement and has assisted facilities in appealing audit adjustments. He has also provided educational sessions to facility staff on consolidated billing regulations.

Accomplished in seminar/workshop presentations as well as keynote addresses, Larry has spoken on a wide variety of topics including: “Managing a Medicare Facility,” “Medicare’s New Prospective Payment System and Impact on Facility Operations,” “Ancillary Management From a Financial Perspective,” and “Overview of Medicare PPS.”

Prior to joining Wipfli LLP, Larry developed exceptional experience functioning as the reimbursement manager and regional financial manager for a large health care corporation with responsibilities for over 100 Medicare and Medicaid cost reports in over 15 states. In addition, Larry performed due diligence work on potential acquisitions and provided financial advice to operational directors and facility administrators. He has been responsible for overseeing Medicare and Medicaid audits and their related appeals.
