Scott Schumacher has over 15 years of experience focusing on providing business consulting to closely held and family-owned businesses in the manufacturing and distribution sectors. Scott has a dual client service role encompassing the provision of quality tax compliance and tax planning services and the identification and application of research and development (R&D) tax credit opportunities.
As the leader of Wipfli LLP’s R&D tax credit service, Scott conducts studies to ascertain the value of the credit. Recognizing tax savings opportunities available from the R & D tax credit allows companies to lower their tax liability and, therefore, increase cash flow available for other needs. During the course of the R & D studies, Scott’s tax planning and compliance expertise enables him to identify additional tax planning opportunities, thereby adding more value for his clients.
An active participant in professional organizations, Scott belongs to the American and Wisconsin Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. He serves on the Federal Taxation Committee of the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs. Scott is also active in community and civic activities.
