Michael Scott, CPA

Director - Health Care Consulting

Michael has over 20 years of experience helping organizations implement and manage performance improvement efforts. Michael has extensive experience using a myriad of tools and processes to achieve both incremental and discontinuous improvements including cost modeling, process mapping, balanced scorecard, and complex financial ROI analyses.

Michael's specialty is cost modeling. He presently directs Wipfli’s Express View® cost modeling service line which helps hospitals by providing accurate costs using a rational and transparent approach. With the decision support data developed hospitals can develop pricing strategies, “Rate Optimize” their Chargemaster, support process improvement initiatives and review the financial impacts of alternative service delivery options.  

Michael brings a wealth of experience and a proven cost modeling approach that has been utilized at a number of health care organizations worldwide. He has completed a number of cost projects for current Wipfli health care clients as well as several projects for federal, state and local institutions.

Professional Organizations and Activities
Michael is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA), the Illinois CPA Society (ILCPA) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). He has been involved in youth baseball and basketball as a coach for over 20 years and has coached golf at both the high school and junior college level.
