Rick Taylor, CPA
Partner in Charge, Tax
Rick is the leader of Wipfli LLP’s tax practice and has over 26 years of tax experience. Rick is responsible for the strategic direction of the tax practice, as well as providing specialized expertise to help clients determine how best to organize and operate their businesses and generate the best tax results. He also has extensive experience crafting tax planning strategies for unique client situations.
Prior to joining Wipfli, Rick worked as a financial analyst with a Fortune 500 company, served as an adjunct professor of taxation at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, was a partner in the Washington National Tax Practice of a Big Four CPA firm, and held various tax leadership positions with a large regional CPA firm.
Rick has co-authored three technical tax books and is frequently quoted in newspapers and business periodicals. He was a developer and domain expert for two popular tax planning software programs.
In his free time, Rick enjoys reading contemporary fiction and biking.

Rick is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA). He is a frequent national speaker for professional and business organizations, including the AICPA; the New York, Ohio, Florida, and Wisconsin Societies of CPAs; the Financial Planning Association; and the Society of Financial Service Professionals.
