John Walther

Senior Consultant

John Walther works with clients to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of their data and IT infrastructure. With 20 plus years in the information technology field, John is able to combine his diverse skills and background with Wipfli’s assessment methodologies and processes, providing clients with the information they need to pinpoint and resolve their security vulnerabilities and improve the security of their data and networks.

Prior to joining Wipfli, John worked as a security/network engineer for a nonprofit organization that provided pension and benefits to its members. He led the implementation of a wide variety of business and compliance-driven security solutions including enterprise antivirus and patch management, enterprise mail encryption, internal vulnerability analysis platforms, intrusion detection, multiple firewall and VPN infrastructures, disaster recovery and incident response, and a secure mobile work force. John also piloted the creation of enterprise best practices for deploying secure desktops, servers, Web presences, and business-specific applications and policy creation and enforcement.

John is a member of the Minnesota Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) and the Minneapolis Chapter of InfraGard. He regularly teaches community education classes and is involved in other local community activities.
