The Challenge
Builders Supply of Northeastern Wisconsin, Inc., is a premier building material distributor with two locations in Green Bay and Appleton. The company wanted to reduce employee time spent processing payroll, plus it was not satisfied with its current payroll software program.
The Strategy
Wipfli’s payroll service department was used as an outsourced service for payroll processing so that employee time could be directed toward other tasks within the organization. To further save time and money, the client input the data information into a spreadsheet format; this was then imported into the Wipfli server for payroll processing. This process was used to prevent double-entry of information. Wipfli also e-mailed the client’s bank 401(k) information for each employee along with the employer match, as well as handled the direct deposit of paychecks.
The Results
The payroll department at Wipfli was able to save the client time and money in two ways. By outsourcing its payroll processing, the client did not have to find a new software system, plus it saved employee time. And because the client directly inputs the data information into a spreadsheet and then imports it into the Wipfli server, it is saving time and money by avoiding double-entry and entry mistakes.
