Asking for money can sometimes be very scary and awkward. Many people and organizations have great anxiety over just the thought of asking. You know deep down that you need major donors to stay sustainable, especially if you are heavily grant-funded, but the anxiety about “making the ask” likely finds you moving this task to the bottom of your to-do list. In this session, we will show you when and how to make asking for money for your organization easier. With a plan and a few simple techniques, this can be a very enjoyable part of your job. After all, who doesn’t want to celebrate offering more services to those who need it most?
- Determine when the time is right to make the big ask.
- Create a comfortable process for making the ask.
- Be prepared to answer objections and questions.
