Ed Drake, MSFP, CFP
Director
Ed Drake leads the personal services practice in Wipfli LLP’s Madison and Milwaukee offices. In addition to providing services directly to clients, he serves as the champion for developing the financial services organization. Ed’s career encompasses years of financial planning experience with major financial planning and accounting firms. He brings excellent service and top performance to each and every engagement.
The scope of Ed’s services includes estate, succession, investment, and executive benefit/stock option planning. He has helped clients with net worth of $500,000 to $500 million with needs ranging from traditional to highly complex.
The key to Ed’s best practices is his approach to client service; he serves as his clients’ advocate. Ed states, “We have a fiduciary or legal responsibility to represent our clients’ interests—not the interest of any investment, insurance, brokerage firm, or even our own, for that matter. Further, we must deliver assistance with absolute integrity and respect. I try to treat clients as I would hope my own family would be treated.”
Also, as part of Wipfli’s wealth management practice, Ed has exceptional access to institutional investment management research and resources and to a wealth of accounting, business consulting, and financial planning resources. This access allows him to provide outstanding services to clients—whether their needs are straightforward or complex.
An accomplished speaker, Ed has made presentations to the Wisconsin Bar, the Financial Planning Association, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Small Business Administration, the Wisconsin Bankers Association, and various churches, businesses, and community groups.
