Webinar: Fundraising and Tax Management
12/14/2017 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM (CT)
Advanced Preparation: None
Field of Study: Taxes
CPE*: 1.0 credit
Most nonprofits at some point in time hold a fundraising event, and there is a lot of confusion about how to report these events and what best practices should be in place for them. Join us in this session to learn from your peers about what has worked for them and to ensure you are in compliance for your own events on the Form 990.
- Determine best practices for events. Brainstorm possible event ideas with your peers and discuss what has worked for you, what hasn’t, what made money, whether it increased your organization’s image enough, and whether it was worth the expense.
- Determine what is (and is not) considered a fundraising event on the Form 990.
- Determine what qualifies as a charitable contribution and learn how to report it on Schedule G.
- Determine what reporting needs are required for gaming (BINGO, 50/50 raffle, etc.).
