Lawndale Christian Health Center, a nonprofit FQHC, moved from Athena to Epic to improve insight, efficiency and care. It had recently partnered with Wipfli to advance financial management with a successful Sage Intacct implementation. Together they carried the momentum forward to design a modern data architecture integrating legacy and Epic data. Now, leaders across operations and finance have the reporting and insights needed to improve outcomes.

The Challenge

The transition to Epic provided Lawndale with richer EHR insights, faster analytics and a scalable architecture to optimize operations and better serve its clients. However, rebuilding the legacy data warehouse would wipe out deep institutional knowledge embedded in more than 1,000 custom reports and objects. Lawndale wanted to retain flexibility, and so it sought a collaborative partner with deep FQHC experience — one that would align its needs to modern options. It chose Wipfli.

The Solution

Wipfli created a plan aligned to Lawndale’s strong culture of ownership and self-sufficiency. The Wipfli team led architecture and design and skilled resource deployment, upskilling Lawndale’s team and tactical migration delivery. Lawndale focused on quality refinement, business logic and hands-on development.
