Wipfli promotes Anna Kooi to lead the national financial services practice

Wipfli is pleased to announce the appointment of Anna Kooi to the position of national financial services industry leader.

Kooi joined Wipfli in 2019 and has more than 20 years of experience serving a variety of public and private clients in the financial services industry.

In her role, Kooi will oversee Wipfli’s national financial services practice, which currently has over 300 associates serving over 1000 organizations in the financial services industry across the U.S. She will be responsible for the overall financial results, strategic direction and alignment of service offerings within the practice, as well as partner and associate development.

Kooi is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS), Illinois Bankers Association (IBA) and Insurance Accounting and Systems Association (IASA). In addition to her professional affiliations, Kooi is involved with various local community and charitable organizations.

Kooi holds a bachelor of arts degree in accounting from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

“Kooi has the background and vision to help us grow our financial services practice and continue our national expansion in Wipfli’s financial services practice area,” said Mike Vesel, current national financial services practice leader. “We are excited to have her on board and in this new leadership role.” 

Kooi will succeed Vesel in this role as he transitions into retirement in 2021.
