The Challenge

Project C.U.R.E. has dedicated itself to increasing the availability of critical medical supplies to under-resourced populations worldwide. The organization recognized that modernizing its systems and improving processes was essential to expanding its reach while preserving the heart of its mission-driven approach. It needed a partner to help scale the deployment of customized cargo container shipments and amplify the impact of its dedicated volunteer base and lean internal teams. Project C.U.R.E. selected Wipfli, a designated Microsoft Solutions Partner, and gained not only advanced technical solutions but also a strategic ally who went above and beyond to match Project C.U.R.E.’s passion and impact.

The Solution

In the first 90 days, Wipfli remedied urgent issues and stabilized operations. The team then led a human-centered approach to learning the workflows, roles and needs of all key personas: operations, donor relations, volunteers, leadership and more. These learnings shaped the creation and execution of a strategic roadmap with technology and process recommendations. Microsoft products included Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Power BI, Business Central and Azure. Wipfli also built a customized AI-enabled Copilot solution to move from labor-intensive data gathering to automated analysis. Most recently, the team created and rolled out a new fundraising and operational management app, CURE Compass, which empowers Project C.U.R.E. to manage its fundraising, Cargo, GIK (gifts-in-kind) and other efforts in a single platform.

The results

Project C.U.R.E. measurably advanced its ability to strengthen healthcare for global, underserved communities. With Wipfli it:

  • Scaled operations to deliver a record-breaking 217 containers in 2024 and 240 containers in 2025.
  • Increased fulfillment speed 10x and eliminated 80% of manual data entry with automation, structured data management and new analysis capabilities.
  • Increased gifts-in-kind to $80 million from $73 million. Added 617 new donors.
  • Automated 4,000+ volunteer hours, reducing frustration and enabling more shipments.
  • Gained enhanced reporting capabilities, connected business operations and streamlined processes, data-based decision making and AI-enabled forecasting.

With Wipfli by its side, Project C.U.R.E. is developing ways to increase each shipment’s impact by extending tracking to the receiving clinics.
