Wipfli Repeats Its Top 20 Spot on INSIDE Public Accounting’s List of Largest CPA Firms

Wipfli LLP (Wipfli), a national accounting and consulting firm, announced that it has earned the number 19 spot on the 2018 Top 100 Firms list recently published by INSIDE Public Accounting (IPA). This is the second consecutive year the firm has ranked in this top 20 position.
The IPA list is based on U.S. net revenue and the submissions of more than 550 firms across the country. Wipfli, which experienced a 6.3% increase in revenue year over year, has been intentional in its growth through new service-line offerings and firm combinations across the U.S. Offering innovative, personalized consulting solutions to holistically address clients’ needs, Wipfli has its sights set on becoming more than what businesses typically expect out of a standard accounting firm.

IPA specifically highlighted the rise of nontraditional services — such as consulting, technology and financial services — within accounting firms. These services account for 28% of total net revenue among the top 100 firms (excluding the Big 4). A full 19% of those firms generate over 40% of their total net revenue from nontraditional services.
IPA also noted that organic growth was down from 6.8% in 2017 to 6.3% in 2018, but that organic growth in net income rose from 4.8% in 2017 to 6.4% in 2018.
