In 2002, Douglas Mueller opened a Culver’s franchise in Maple Grove, Minnesota, and quickly staked out success within the bustling, greater Minneapolis metro community. With more than 30 employees and a rabid Butterburger® fan base, growth at his restaurant has continued to climb.
Since opening the doors to his business, Mueller has regularly relied on professional accounting and bookkeeping services. However, a familiar pattern kept emerging. The delivery of those business services would always start out well, but either rates would soon rise dramatically or services would deteriorate. Mueller worked with three different firms before contacting Wipfli at the recommendation of Culver’s corporate offices.
Bringing a thorough understanding of the Culver Franchising System, Wipfli seamlessly began managing the accounting for both Mueller’s real estate entity and his operating entity. Among the professional services the firm provides are:
- Managing payroll.
- Processing and paying of vendor bills.
- Reconciling all bank and credit card accounts.
- Managing cash flow and keeping accounts up to date.
- Preparing monthly financial reports and custom reports for Culver’s corporate offices.
- Performing tax preparation and filing.
After just the first year, Mueller realized greater accuracy in his books and accounting.
In addition, the Web-based portal has proven to be a convenient and streamlined tool for Mueller, giving him desired anytime control over accounts payable. The portal allows him to pick and choose his bill paying timelines and gives him quick access to view any of his business information—from viewing a specific W2 to reviewing payroll from six months ago.
Mueller also enjoys the convenience of having all his services—accounting, bookkeeping, and tax—under one roof, which has created continuity in any and all statements, reports, and filings.
