The Challenge
The AP manager at Grand Valley Fortifiers (GVF) was buried in paperwork. GVF used manual, paper-based processes for reimbursements and reclaimable tax calculations. Employees had to manually populate an Excel template, print cover sheets, attach paper receipts and deliver their requests to AP — where one person completed another series of manual steps to calculate reclaimable tax and enter the claims into Dynamics GP. Reimbursements took a long time, and there was little visibility into the process or how it affected bigger-picture financials.
