Overview
WinnaVegas Casino Resort faced an immense challenge to meet year-end audit requirements. It emerged not only with an unqualified opinion audit but also with self-sufficiency and a renewed focus on automation and growth. Wipfli’s Sage Intacct implementation team and outsourced finance and accounting team provided a full data reconstruction and replaced WinnaVegas’s legacy financial accounting system. The Challenge
WinnaVegas needed significant support to reconstruct historical data to meet National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) audit compliance requirements. Its opaque legacy system blocked crisis resolution, lasting improvements and autonomy. Sage Intacct software implementation
- Moved from a legacy on-premises system to a cloud-based modern platform, Sage Intacct, in record time.
- Used Wipfli’s proprietary golden image implementation approach — an environment configured with tribal gaming industry best practices as a guide for successful deployment.
- Created a common chart of accounts and executed a new accounting structure.
- Installed Martus budgeting software, creating bidirectional syncing with Sage Intacct. Trained WinnaVegas on the new process and completed budget in under one week.
- Eliminated paper documentation and automated the purchasing workflow, including electronic approvals.
- Enhanced the system-based bank reconciliation process.
Outsourced finance and accounting data rebuild
