Webinar: Tax Reform for Exempt Organizations and What That Means for Fundraising
4/25/2018 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM (CT)
Advanced Preparation: None
Level: Basic
Prerequisite: None
Field of Study: Taxes
CPE*: 1.0 credit
DESCRIPTION
With the recent adoption of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, tax-exempt organizations will be facing some serious changes. In this brief session, we will discuss what reporting changes exempt organizations will face, including one of the largest pitfalls-the increase to the standard deduction, which could potentially decrease individual charitable giving. We will look at ways to proactively prepare for this loss of contributions and ways to invest our development dollars wisely.
Learning Objectives:
- Discuss the new changes in the tax bill that apply to tax-exempt organizations.
- Determine how to prepare for a possible decrease in contributions with the changes to itemized deductions in the tax reform.
- Explore how to use data to make smarter decisions on where to spend your fundraising dollars.
